House Plants: the do’s and dont’s!

I don’t know about you, but when the sun starts shining and the temperature starts to creep above 60 I become a crazy plant and gardening prep kind of gal. I love to get my seedlings started for outside, and fill the indoors with a variety of houseplants – all pet-friendly of course!

I wanted to dedicate a blog post to some of my favorite pet-friendly, and some not so friendly, house plants so you can be sure that you are keeping Fido and Fluffy safe at home.

All of the above plants, except the Asparagus Fern, are safe as long as your pet does not ingest or chew on them. The Asparagus Fern can cause skin irritation if your pet is repeatedly exposed to it.

Obviously, these are not the only safe house plants on the market, but this is a pretty good list to get you started if your pets have an inkling towards eating any indoor foliage that you use for decorating.

If you think your pet may have ingested a toxic plant, or toxic anything for that matter, call us as soon as possible to avoid any major issues!
